to apply for the job

Ljusgårda is facing a strategic shift. From stable production of fresh plants, we are now taking the step towards manufacturing ingredients for cosmetics and skincare, which entails new processes and new demands on our production. Therefore, we are looking for a Head of Maintenance who can roll up their sleeves right here and now while simultaneously building the structure for tomorrow's maintenance.

This is a key role with a broad mandate and clear direction. You will step into a situation where we need stable operations today, but also a long-term strategy to develop our assets, ways of working, and team over time.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

As Head of Maintenance, you are responsible for driving and developing maintenance work, both operationally and strategically. Initially, you will be hands-on in a low-volume environment where the structure needs to be established and where we currently do not have a fixed technician role. At the same time, you will have personnel responsibility for two technical project managers from day one and will gradually build up the organization moving forward.

Your assignment is to:

  • Ensure stable operations through preventive and planned maintenance

  • Build structure, systems, and ways of working according to Operational Excellence with a focus on Lean, TPM/WCOM

  • Drive and develop the AM (Autonomous Maintenance) and PM (Planned Maintenance) pillars

  • Own and develop our asset roadmap and contribute to CAPEX decisions

  • Lead technical projects related to: reconfiguration of the machine park, new ingredient assets, process changes, modifications, and upgrades

  • Monitor and improve key performance indicators such as availability, MTBF/MDT, PM compliance, and maintenance-related cost impact

You will work closely with production, quality, and R&D and become a central player in creating a more robust, scalable, and future-proof production. Here we make data-driven decisions, work with continuous improvements, and ensure we prevent problems rather than just putting out fires.

WHO ARE YOU?

We are looking for someone who has grown from the floor. You have been hands-on in a technical or industrial environment yourself and have taken the step into a leadership role. You understand the machines, but also the people and the business.

You:

  • Thrive in an operational environment and are not afraid to roll up your sleeves

  • Have experience of maintenance in a manufacturing environment (cosmetics, pharma, or health supplements are a merit)

  • Have led technical projects and are confident in taking responsibility

  • Understand how maintenance affects cost, quality, and output

  • Have a natural improvement mindset and interest in Lean, TPM, WCOM, or equivalent

  • Are used to working cross-functionally and creating collaboration

You are just as comfortable analyzing data and setting up structure as you are standing out on the production floor solving problems. Moving forward, you will also be part of building the team – so your ability to develop both people and ways of working will be crucial.

WANT TO KNOW MORE?

If you have any questions, you are welcome to contact the responsible recruiter Fredrik Karlström via email: [email protected] or Amanda Eksell via email: [email protected]. We work with continuous selection, so please send in your application as soon as possible, no later than 2026-03-15.
